My Approach
I trained through the Northern Guild as an Integrative Child and Young Person Psychotherapist.
As an integrative therapist working with children and young people, I adapt sessions that are best suited to meet the individual needs.
Therapy can provide different ways of working depending on the child or young person, and in some cases when talking feels challenging, I offer other ways of working too.
Much of my work includes creativity in the form of:
- Sand tray
- Clay
- Art
- Music
Each child or young person is unique in their own way and my philosophy of working holds central the relationship with the individual.
Why Counselling?
If you are looking for therapeutic support to address current challenges that you or your child are facing in life, then considering Psychotherapeutic Counselling may be a short term pathway for exploration. Together we can explore the goals for counselling and discuss in our sessions how long we feel it may take to achieve. We will work together to find what best fits for you or your child/young person.
Why Psychotherapy?
Often the question arises between the difference of counselling and psychotherapy, and this can be subjective. In my experience of Psychotherapy, this pathway offers a longer term way of working, which considers roots and patterns of how we relate to others and the world around us.
Exploring these patterns within the therapeutic relationship can help to understand how we may find ourselves or child/young person feeling stuck. We can then work together to explore ways to navigate these challenges to facilitate change.
