Frequently Asked Questions
No question is too small. Ask anything you need to feel safe, comfortable, and ready.
Not at all. I provide a dedicated, private space for adults to talk through their own challenges. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed or just need someone to listen, I am here to help you find your own way forward too.
I do not provide couples therapy. I work closely with Glenda McIntosh and signpost clients to her for this service. You can find further details on her website: www.glendamcintosh.co.uk.
The number of sessions depends on your specific goals. Some people prefer short-term counselling for a specific challenge, while others choose longer-term psychotherapy for deeper support. We will review our work together regularly to ensure that the timing and frequency always feel helpful and manageable for you.
Our first meeting is a fifty-minute assessment. It is a relaxed chance for us to meet, share your history, and talk about your goals. We will then decide together if I am the right person to support you or your child.
It is very normal for children to feel shy. I don’t just rely on talking; I use a creative toolkit with sand trays, clay, and music. This lets your child express themselves through play and art until they feel comfortable enough to use their words.
I want you to feel completely safe and secure when we talk. Everything you share with me is kept private. We will go through a privacy agreement together in our first session so you know exactly how I protect your information.
I believe we are a team in supporting your child. While your child needs a private space to feel safe, I will meet with you regularly to share general themes and progress. This ensures you feel supported and know how to help them at home.
